My Household Budget/Management Binder (view here) is something I use every day (sometimes multiple times a day).  It keeps our current expenses and any information we need to keep at our finger tips nicely organized.  However, it lacked a place for future expenses.  As the summer has flown by, I feel like every day I have another future purchase to remember for the start of school.  I decided to make a future expense page for the binder to help me remember where our money needs to go in the upcoming months.  Now, when I sit down to budget I already have a list of "extra" expenses for the new month.  It is just another way to keep surprise expenses from...well, surprising me! As expenses pop into my head, I write them down for the correct month along with how much I think they will cost.  For example, August has "school supplies" "school clothes" with the amount of money I plan to spend.
